A brilliant idea. Even a moderately adequate idea.
But I have:

This is a new thing for me--previously my ideas have been so plentiful they've even sexed each other up and produced their own ideas. But again, I'm back to:

It reminds me that being creative is hard work--that ideas don't just fall from the sky and the ones that do aren't ready yet--they still need to be tweaked and twisted and stretched. That being creative means thinking so hard that your brain aches and that creativity is a process, not an event.
So I think.

Ohhh Heidi. (((HUGS)))
But it IS hard work. Damn hard work. The talent is in waiting for the right idea, plucking it out of the creative ether, and writing the hell out of it. Which you'll do, the minute it floats along.
Hang in. We all know you'll make it.
Think of it this way, you have time to read and read.
You can't force the ideas so relax and smell the roses for a while. Hmm, may not be possible since it is winter, so smell the cold weather and what ever scents it has.
I know the ideas will start flowing and you want be able to keep up.
Leigh Ann--Oh, you are such a sweetie. Thank you.
Juanita--I know, I know. But it is hard to stop--I want to force an idea because I need to be writing. Okay--temper tantrum over. I haven't been by your blog in awhile--I'll stop on over today.
I completely sympathize with you, but there will be light again. Of course it will flip on at the most inappropriate moment. Well, at least that happens to me. My muse is cruel like that!
I went six months without an idea before one finally hit for my third book. It will be all right!
Christine--So very true!
Alex--Here's hoping it isn't six months...that's some dedication.
This was a really great idea. If you can come up with this, I know there's other great ones in there.
BTW: if you get any ideas that stay single, send them my way...maybe it can "sex up" one or two of my more shy ones....
Dean--You made me laugh so hard I woke up my son--which is amazing and not so awesome at the same time--but I'll let you know if any of my ideas are single.
Well, I am duly impressed. I've never seen such a creative way to express the idea that ... you have no ideas? Come on. The juices are flowing. How else could you have come up with such a creative post? Be patient. The ideas will be hitting you over the head in no time.
Oh yes, the tweaking, twisting and stretching. It's exhausting. But I suppose it's something. Hang in there. They will come back. They always do.
Boy do I know THAT feeling. I've been sitting in a hole for weeks, waiting for a ladder - but it's not magically appearing like it used to!
I guess we both need to start digging out our own footholds untill we can continue on flat land again! (I like that metaphor...)
Good luck!
Susan--You were right. It happened a few hours after this post went up!
Lisa--Thanks!
Lacee--Great metaphor! I'm ready to start digging.
I sometimes have the opposite problem: too many ideas. I need to buckle down and finish the ones I've started.
