I'm working through "Sea Change" by Jeremy Page.
"Guy remembers how his Dad would contemplate the ash as it grew along the cigarette and watch patterns of smoke rising from its tip, as if they might fleetingly reveal a secret."

Oh wow, intense teaser. Mine is from Thirteen Reasons Why this week.
